About Gainan Taxidermy
In your selection of a taxidermist, you must know what type of training, licenses, and policies they have — allowing you to make an informed decision in selecting a taxidermist.
I have been doing taxidermy since 2013. My desire to become a taxidermist was rooted in my youth growing up in Montana and the love of the outdoors and wildlife. More importantly I completed formal education in taxidermy at Montgomery Community College in Troy North Carolina. I earned certificates in Mammals, Fish, and completed two the necessary course work on mounting Birds. Since that time, I have continued my education with hands-on experience.
I am a licensed Taxidermist in the State of Montana and Federal Migratory Bird Taxidermy.
I support and volunteer my services in support of disabled veterans and organizations that support the local community. As part of my outreach program, you can contact me to discuss any project you have to support a function or fundraiser to help your organization.
Here are some important questions to ask your Taxidermist in your search.
Q. Can I see some other work similar to mine your working on now?
A. You are welcome to come in and check out any of the current work I have completed and working on in my shop, or please look at my pictures on Facebook and my photo gallery page.Q. What is the expected turnaround time for my mount?
A. I will strive to have it completed in 90 to 180 days. Drying time, type of mount, and other factors play into the timeline. Rest assured, I will do my best to return it to you as quickly as I can.
Q. What is the required deposit and when is the remainder due?
A. I ask for a 50% deposit. However, depending on the project I will work with you for payment options.
Q. Do you have a policy for repairing your work a year later?
A. I will repair my work at any time, please bring it back, and we can decide to repair it.
Q. In the case of a fire/flood, etc., what happens to my mount and my money?
A. As with any business, this is something we need to discuss in person if and only if a catastrophe happens. I will assist in any way I can.
No matter what the job, I can get the project done with the quality, you would expect.
