Gainan's Taxidermy Frequent Questions
What does it cost to mount my fish, bird or mammal? (How Much do you charge)
Costs very depending on what you want done, for example if you want specific scenes or display cases. Call and we can discuss your project and how much it will cost. All mounts will come with a method to display such as wall hangers or some sort of stand to stand on.
What is your turn around time?
My goal is to be done before the next hunting season or less, If I can't meet that time line due to work or extenuating circumstances I will discuss that with you directly. If you need it faster I can accommodate to meet your timeline as necessary.
How should I mount my deer?
This decision is actually made when you are in the Field and begin processing the deer. When you go to cutting the deer to skin it and process it and inadvertently cut off the brisket (Chest) or cut the cape to short (See Field Care below), or make numerous cuts in the neck of the deer you have already made that cape non-mountable without significant repair costs associated with fixing the hide or replacing the hide completely.
If you have done this already to your animal, not to worry as all things are repairable. But you may not be able to mount the pose you originally wanted such as a nice floor pedestal mount. When in doubt and your local, bring the whole deer to me and I can assist in the decision process.
